June 2025:
#WeAreMasons

The past three years, the Masons of California have led a summer social media campaign called #ImAMason highlighting the many reasons we love belonging to this historic and timeless fraternity. By pretty much any measure, that’s been a great success: A reach of more than 8.6 million users, more than 27,000 interactions, and posts from as far away as England, Africa, South America, and Kuala Lumpur.
This year, we want to keep that momentum going—with a twist.
One of the things our members have pointed out is that what they appreciate most about being a Mason is the group dynamic: The friendships made in lodge. The impact that the fraternity can make on a local community. The service that Masons lend to others, together.
That’s why, from JUNE 2 to JUNE 13, we’re asking you to once again post on your favorite social media site. But this time, we’re using a new hashtag: #WeAreMasons. Show the world why we’re better together.
Post pics of a lodge volunteer effort. A group outing to a ballgame. A local charity drive. In each case, it’s important we let the world know that #WeAreMasons, and that this is what Masonry looks like in action.
June 2–13
Post a group photo of your lodge in action with the hashtag #WeAreMasons.
Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn
We’ll like it and reshare!
By shining a light on the good work that you and your lodge are doing for the communities we live in, you’re letting the people around us know what Masonry is all about. And that, in turn, may be the spark that someone needs to come and knock at the door. So help us get the word out and share the word: #WeAreMasons.

A related note: The Grand Lodge of California will launch its annual membership awareness campaign on social media later in June. Last year, this campaign led to more than 3,000 new prospects entering our membership portal.
This campaign doesn’t require anything from lodges, and it’s possible you won’t even encounter it on social media. But lodges should prepare to see an influx of new prospects coming in, either directly to your lodge secretary or prospect manager, or through the Grand Lodge’s membership advisors, who can connect them to local lodges.
Awareness campaigns like this are only as successful if would-be members are able to connect to local lodges. So be ready to answer that knock. Need tips on getting ready? See our tips from a previous issue of the Leader.
A few pointers:
- Acknowledge prospects in a timely manner: If a prospect doesn’t hear back within 24 or 48 hours, they may well lose interest.
- Welcome message and personal invitation: Invite them to an upcoming lodge event—and if your lodge isn’t planning any prospect events, consider holding one!
- Always follow up: After you speak with a prospect, follow up with a link to the lodge webpage, Facebook page, or other information you might have mentioned online.
- Don’t rely on one channel: It’s easy to miss an email or ignore a call from a number you don’t recognize. That doesn’t mean a prospect isn’t interested; only that you haven’t connected yet. Call, text, email, even send an invite via snail-mail!

Our inner landscape is the very essence of who we are, but do we believe that to be true? We possess a quiet yet profound power to manifest our life’s journey. This understanding opens daily invitations to observe how our inner cultivation truly creates our lived experiences.
Consider the dedication behind mastery: a sprinter achieves record-breaking speed not by chance but through relentless training, honed breathing, and strengthened muscles. A financial visionary achieves remarkable gains from deep market understanding, insight, and taking action without hesitation. Their success is a clear reflection of dedicated inner work.
Many of us seek external markers for success. We measure progress by others’ standards. Yet the most potent source lies within: our unique, God-given talents and innate natural wisdom. When we nurture these qualities that flow so effortlessly, our natural wisdom doesn't just lead to personal well-being and growth; it organically creates abundance, resources, and solutions for those around us. We become an answer for others.
These inherent abilities are beyond price. Their value is determined by the spirit you bring to them. Like iconic figures—Jordan, Steve Jobs, Tupac, or Brady —who were unapologetically themselves. They weren't trying to be the “next” anyone; they trusted their unique blueprint. Embracing your distinct path is key. Purposeful service, rooted in this authenticity, often finds its corresponding universal reward.
This embodies the beautiful rhythm of giving and receiving. Abundance is a flowing current, not a stagnant pool. By generously sharing your unique talents and insights, you participate in a divine circulation, creating the very space that allows you to receive. Trust in your intrinsic power and authentic expression; this leads to a life of limitless potential.
