A New Kind of Retreat For the Whole Line
Masters | Junior and Senior Wardens | Junior and Senior Deacons | Stewards | Secretaries | Treasurers | Officers’ Coaches | Tilers | Marshals | Chaplains | Organists
This year, the Masons of California are proud to introduce the Keystone Initiative, a new forward-looking vision for the fraternity meant to strengthen our organization, improve the member experience, and position the fraternity as an integral part of the community. As part of the Keystone Initiative, we’ll be rolling out several important new programs and campaigns to improve how lodges function and are run, to simplify the business of running a lodge, and how we engage in philanthropy.
The 2026 Leadership Retreats are your opportunity to learn exactly what’s in the Keystone Initiative—how it will affect your lodge, your officer’s role, and your members’ experience in Freemasonry. Get important updates and training on every officer’s role, with special tracks for executive, education, membership and charity, and finance and administration positions. Get to know important new programs like the new Grand Lodge Insurance Captive, newly developed Lodge Officer Job Descriptions, new Hall Maintenance and Hall Assessment Programs, plus all the fun fellowship you’ve come to expect at these once-a-year gatherings. Plus: For the first time ever, the retreats will include a tiled meeting to introduce a newly streamlined version of a stated meeting.
No matter whether you’re a newly installed officer or a lodge veteran, you’ll come away from this year’s retreat with a plan, great ideas, and a lot of new friends and Masonic colleagues.

“At lodge, you have people who can tell you what you ‘should’ be doing, but here, you can learn what you ‘can’ do—and you meet people who can give you the support to do it.”
–Marty Cusing, Past Master of Burlingame No. 400
“I came back to the lodge inspired. It was a very meaningful experience. Even after all the leadership positions I’ve been I’ve been in, I still find it valuable.
