In the wake of the economic crisis, a group from Three Great Lights Lodge No. 651 in Hayward is stepping up to help fellow Masons in a new way.
Masonic Career Action Network (MCAN) is a self-organized volunteer group of Masons. Its mission is to help brothers advance their careers within a fraternal environment.
MCAN volunteers assist brothers with career services such as resume writing, interview skills, and job search tips. They also trade personal insights into career fields, thanks to diverse professional backgrounds.
Although MCAN does provide job search resources, it is not a job placement program. In fact, many members are currently employed, and attend meetings simply to enhance or advance their current vocation.
MCAN meets on Mondays at 10 a.m. at Three Great Lights Lodge, and is open to all Masons in the San Francisco Bay Area. For more information on membership or volunteering, contact BayAreaMCAN@gmail.com.
